    Nurse Revalidation

    The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) confirmed their systems and processes on 8 October 2015. This is effective from April 2016. Revalidation is the process that allows you to maintain your registration with the NMC and demonstrates your continued ability to practice safely and effectively. It is a continuous process that you will engage with throughout your career. It is the responsibility of the Nurse to ensure they are aware of their revalidation date therefore will need to give themselves enough time to prepare.

    Severn Angels Healthcare will support the Nurse with the process of Revalidation.

    Revalidation Requirements

    • 450 practice hours for each registration. Dual registration (e.g. nurse and midwife) requires 900 practice hours
    • 35 hours of continuing professional development (of which 20 must be participatory
    • Five pieces of practice-related feedback
    • Five written reflective accounts
    • Reflective discussion
    • Health and character declaration
    • Professional indemnity arrangement
    • Confirmation form signed by confirmer

    The NMC recommends that you keep a record of the above by creating your own portfolio.

    • How do I join Severn Angels Nursing Agency?

      You will need to prepare the following information and documents. Additional documents may be requested as per the framework or client’s requirements.

      2. Proof of Right to Work
      3. Proof of Identity
      4. Proof of vaccinations
      5. Proof of NI
      6. Enhanced DBS
      7. NMC Pin number (Nurses only)
      8. Proof of Indemnity Cover
      9. Evidence of Qualifications

    • How long does the registration process take?

      With Severn Angels Healthcare, you can register within a week. The quicker you respond and provide with the documentation requested, the sooner you can start working with us.

    • I only want night shifts, are shifts guaranteed?

      We are the first point of contact for most of our clients which means we have plenty of shifts available. However, availability depends the clients’ needs and cannot be guaranteed.

    • Once I am registered and working with Severn Angels, Will I get a placement Induction?

      All our clients offer an Induction on your first shift. The Induction normally covers –

      • Fire doors and health and safety
      • Where to locate the crush trolley and procedure
      • The ward or facilities’ policies and paperwork
      • Any additional Information on Confidentiality, contact details of the multidisciplinary teams and other wards, etc
      • An induction gives you a chance to ask any questions relating to different topics such as the facility’s documentation procedure, escalation procedure, where all documents are located, where BM machines are located and any other important information that you may need to be aware of depending on your role and placement location.
    • How can I update my availability?

      Please call our bookings team, update availability on the app or send them a message with your availability or any changes to your availability.

    • What payment options do you have?

      Our payroll is managed by our preferred umbrella company, which is IR35 compliant. If you have your own preferred umbrella company, please provide us with their details. We will assess them to ensure they comply with IR35 guidelines before using them. Payroll is processed every Friday; all timesheets should be submitted by Monday before 17:30 hrs to ensure your payroll is processed for Friday.
