    BLACK HISTORY MONTH

October is Black History Month, which provides a welcome occasion to recognise the ongoing contributions that black, Asian, and other ethnic minority nurses and healthcare workers have made to the healthcare industry.

Let’s follow the theme for the month (‘Time for change: Action not words’) & honour the achievements, culture and history of black, Asian and ethnic minority nurses and healthcare professionals. This is a time to spread knowledge of Black history and enlighten the world. According to studies, 60% of black professionals still encounter racism at work. As per the survey, 25% of people said that because of their race, judgments are made about their skills, personality, or behaviour. It’s crucial to address this discrimination and inequality. Discrimination causes talent to be wasted and poor staff experience results in worse outcomes for patients and communities, so it is crucial to address this issue.

At Severn Angels Healthcare, we are celebrating the month & the contributions of black, Asian and Ethnic minority Nurses and Healthcare professionals. We should remember their amazing contributions & be grateful for it every day.

We believe that, in order for each person to realise their full potential, there must be a lack of fear of prejudice or discrimination, as well as the conviction that one’s career opportunities are not predetermined by one’s race, ethnicity, or nationality.
